A candid look at what we can and can’t do

We specialize in securing extraordinary talent for organizations (recruiting). We do not specialize in finding companies for executives in need of a new role (outplacement).
And while on the surface these two functions appear to be closely related, they are not. Like the soldier and the doctor who may cross paths on or near the battlefield, and who even possess some overlapping skills...their missions are necessarily very different.
This does not mean that we cannot add value to your quest. I actually get significant enjoyment from helping executives in transition. Because, however, it can take time away from what my clients are paying me to do, I must severely limit the time I spend with executives looking for a job. This article is an attempt to help you by giving you a realistic picture of how/why recruiters can and can’t help you, and to offer some practical suggestions for what you can do to re-engage in a meaningful role.
